Deep, Nourishing Hair Conditioner
This could be the best conditioner I've made. Try it!

I have tried many different recipes over the years but never been happy with the end results - some have been too heavy on oils, some have been too runny. Eventually, as I make and use solid shampoo I gave up experimenting trying to get it right, until I saw this ingredient in my suppliers list and learnt more about it. What is this great ingredient......... well, its called Saccharide Isomerate Plus and can be purchased from Aromantic. Check it out!

This great little ingredient is a deep, intensive moisturising product which takes effect on the hair immediately and lasts a long while. It's an amber liquid made from plant derived from glucode and fructose to mimic the carbohydrate complex in the human skin - clever.

I have used Argan Oil, Olive Oil and Coconut Oil but you can tailor the nourishing oils to suit your own hair. The emulsifying wax in this recipe is a primary emulsifyer that needs no other stabiliser or thickener and produces a luxury hair product.

How to Make your own hair conditioner using natural ingredients

  1. Place Stage 1 ingredients into your double boiler. If you haven't got a double boiler place a heat proof bowl over a saucepan of water. Heat to 75-80c

  2. Place Stage 2 ingredients into a heatproof container. Heat to 75-80c

  3. When both Stage 1 and Stage 2 reach the required temperature, gradually and slowly trickle the oils from Stage 1 into Stage 2 while blending continually with an electric blender. Pour the oils very gently so the ingredients do not split during emulsification. Allow to cool.

  4. Add Stage 3 and blend well. Pour into a clean bottle or jar.
